Mike Reid

Architect, Planning Specialist
Mike Reid is the co-founder of MPAKA Inc. After completing his Masters in Architecture at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he worked at Perkins+Will in Atlanta, then BAR Architects in San Francisco, and returned to Perkins+Will Atlanta as the market sector leader for Higher Education. He has been a successful leader in the corporate and institutional world, designing dozens of academic buildings and campus master plans, but his passion is for the people of East Africa and modeling excellence in both practice and teaching. He brings 18 years of experience as an architect and planning specialist working in the US, Middle East and East Africa. Currently he serves at Uganda Christian University as the the Campus Architect, Physical planning manager and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering. He has also volunteered with Engineering Ministries International on master planning and building design in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. |
Physician, Educator
Kris Reid is the co-founder of MPAKA Inc. Following graduation from Emory University School of Medicine she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of California, San Francisco. She remained there to complete a fellowship in General Medicine Research focusing on the social determinants of access to health care before joining their faculty of medicine. She brings 15 years experience as a physician, clinician educator and medical researcher in both the US and Uganda. She has held faculty appointments at UCSF, Emory University and Uganda Christian University. In Uganda, Kris has worked with several local clinics and community based organizations, to provide health care, education and training for marginalized populations in the city and the village. At UCU she consults at the Alan Galpin Health Clinic and is involved in curriculum development for the Sir Alfred Cook Medical School. |
Kayiira Kenneth

Project Manager
Kayiira Kenneth completed his bachelors degree in Development Studies at Uganda Christian University. He is a native of Uganda and brings his cultural expertise along with several years of diverse, relevant work experience in the areas of health, family systems, infrastructure, agriculture and livelihood projects. Kayiira has worked in the private sector, with local government, and community based organizations doing project development, management and evaluation. |
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Brian Dennison, JD MBA is in the process of reentry in the United States as he wraps up seven years of missionary service in Uganda with the Society of Anglican Missionaries and Senders (SAMS). While in Uganda Brian held several posts at Uganda Christian University including: Manager of Uganda Christian University’s Institute of Faith Learning and Service, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, Law Lecturer and Coordinator of the Clinical Legal Education Program. Brian holds a Bachelors Degree, a Masters in Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia (USA). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Private Law from the University of Cape Town. Prior to serving in Uganda, Brian worked as a lawyer in Savannah, Georgia with the law firm of Bouhan Williams and Levy, LLP. Brian is an active member in good standing with the Georgia Bar. He lives with his wife of 18 years, Mary Jane, and their four children: Charlotte, David, Robert and Carol. They reside in Savannah, Georgia and attend church at Christ Church Anglican, Savannah. Brian loves Jesus and believes in the potential of creative, Gospel-centered missionary engagement in Uganda.

Rev. Dr. Malcolm Reid
Malcolm Reid is a Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at Gordon College in Wenham, MA, and the Assistant Rector and Director of Outreach at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Danvers, MA. He holds degrees from University of Edinburgh, PhD; Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, M Div; and a BA from Central College in MO. A native of New Zealand, he has been residing in the USA since 1957 and became a citizen in 2007. His professional life was spent educating and mentoring students at Gordon College where he chaired the Department of Philosophy and the Humanities Division of over 30 years. Upon retirement, he subsequently was ordained a deacon and then a priest in the newly forming Anglican Church in North America. Malcolm remains active internationally as he chairs the US Trustees, Anglican Relief and Development Fund, and is a member of the board for Uganda Christian University Partners. He is married to Dolly Reid, a Copley Society artist whose works are in collections nationally and internationally. Together they enjoy collecting art, traveling, gardening, music and reading.

Heather Carlberg, MD

Matthew Willis, MD MPH
Dr. Matt Willis is currently the Public Health Officer in Marin County, California where he had served as an Internal Medicine Physician, and where he was raised. Dr. Willis earned several advanced degrees in public health and medicine including: Internal Medicine Residency, Cambridge Hospital Harvard Medical School; Masters of Public Health, International Health, Harvard School of Public Health; Doctorate of Medicine, Temple School of Medicine; BA, Medical Anthropology, Brown University. He spent six years in the U.S. Public Health Service, serving in the Indian Health Service and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Operating on the principle that every person deserves the highest attainable standard of health, he worked to improve healthcare systems on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona as a Clinic Director. As an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer at the CDC he has conducted research and published on Tuberculosis and HIV in the U.S, Rwanda, India, Haiti and Kazakhstan. His public health training, global health experiences and a primary care provider, guide focus toward protecting the health of all. Matt lives in Marin County with his wife Dr Heather Carlberg and three children.
