Mission

MPAKA is a faith-based, non-profit organization that supports Uganda Christian University through teaching, practice and outreach.

We believe that the key to fullness of life is knowing that we are deeply loved by God. From that place we can both access our inherent individual worth and value, and we can appreciate that of our neighbors. God calls us to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with Him. MPAKA believes that the best way to respectfully serve and care for people is through education and empowerment.

We want to practice love and justice in how we live and in what we do. Our mission is to serve Uganda in three ways:

TEACH

We teach medicine and architecture at Uganda Christian University. We are passionate about education not just disseminating knowledge. We are intentional to bring creativity and innovation in how we teach. We support UCU as they continue to grow their educational programs in both quantity and quality.

PRACTICE

We practice in our professional capacities of medicine and architecture at Uganda Christian University. Kris works in the campus health clinic and Mike is the campus architect and planner. We strive to model excellence in how we care for student and faculty health, and how we plan and build the campus.

OUTREACH

MPAKA offers an opportunity for students to participate in  interdisciplinary community outreach. We teach and train the students to work together to identify ways their discipline of study can be applied to community development.
